We have now been established for over 35 years at this centre, previously having horses and ponies privately. We have gathered a valuable depth of experience though the years to pass on to anyone who comes here, whether its for a riding lesson or for advice in the shop before buying! The three permanent qualified instructors, Nick, Virginia and Julie are complemented by one trainee teacher, Kathryn, with Mandy making sure all is well on the yard. (Billie is looking forward to joining us full time when she leaves school). We take children and adults from beginners to advanced riders and we are happy to give coaching and lessons to riders on their own horses. The emphasis is, as always, on learning the classical style in both flat work and jumping. This is complemented by holding regular pony days for children during school holidays and stable management courses for adults at other times. By doing this riders are able to become good allrounders having experience in both riding and care. We have indoor facilities for all aspects and the indoor school is also available for hire, including the jumps when it is not being used by the riding school. Please feel free to call round to have a look and pick up a brochure, we have a large car park and there is a friendly local pub just opposite to Woods lane, the 'Admiral Rodney'. A frequent bus route (every 15 min's) from Nottingham is available from Barton's service. We are full B.E.T.A. retail members and the riding school is approved by the British Horse Society and the Association of British Riding Schools. Children especially enjoy our Summer Holiday weeks when we arrange a full programme of activities for 3 days (Wednesday to Friday) these include fun and games along with the serious side of things. If it gets hot, lots of water can be involved! Plus BBQ's, paper chases and mounted games. |
